I've just watched Daniel Richter's wonderful presentation on the North German Artist, Emil Nolde. This presentation brought me into a new world. An artistic world that was quite wonderful, yet also
frightening at the same time.
Daniel is an unusually gifted
speaker who enters several "taboo areas" and discusses Emil Nolde, who was a "failed Nazi" painter, for the reason that Hitler personally did not like his work. Otherwise Nolde seems to have subscribed completely to the philosophy and racial beliefs of the Nazis. For Daniel, knowing this about the painter does not diminish the stature of his work.
Some of Nolde's paintings which are shown during the course of the presentation are immensly powerful.

Looking forward to visiting Prague again on the 12th of October.
